Photojournalism is a visual interpretation of journalism. It is used for broadcast, news articles, magazines etc. that comes in a collection in order to tell a story.
Photojournalists are like news reporters, they must make quick decisions while at the scene and as well as facing dangerous obstacles. They're always on the look-out for an opportunity to capture a story even if there are obstacles.
It is usually look at as still photography, but in some case it can be seen in a video, which is used in broadcast journalism.
Photojournalism can be distinguished by their:
- Timeliness: the photos taken have a meaning in which it is put in order of the events
- Objectivity: the situation in the images have a equal and accurate representation of the events they show in both content and tone
- Narrative: the images taken can be combined with other news to make facts that are easily understood by the readers or viewers
